Part of the Kimono Umbrella collection, this Japanese umbrella design is __ Shuka, the colour of summer. Crafted & upcycled from a traditional, antique Kimono that has been passed down through generations.
Coated in a Vermilion Fabric, a vibrant scarlet colour often seen at the gates of sacred shrines all over Japan. This colour invokes both, the brightness of the sun, and the heat of a summer’s day. According to the Chinese theory of Yin-Yang and the Five Elements, a Vermilion Summer represents a period when people are fully energetic and the most active.
Canopy is made from 100% silk of a Kimono, meaning it’s not suitable for rain as it would damage the silk – however, like the theme of this umbrella, it is perfect for the sun, weighing approximately 310 grams. Enjoy the radiance and vibrancy of this gorgeous __ Shuka Kimono Japanese Umbrella on a bright and sunny day.

Kimono Collection: Sun parasols made from fabric cut from antique Kimono. The Kimono is a Japanese traditional formal costume, but due to fashion culture & trends changing, people don’t wear kimonos as often as they used to, so they have been upcycled & hand-crafted into a beautiful umbrella.
